The History of Bada Bagh
Bada Bagh means Big Garden, but it is much more than a garden. In the 16th century, Maharawal Jait Singh started the artwork of Bada Bagh, and after his passing, his son Maharawal Lunkaran completed the construction of this beautiful monument. There is also a massive dam nearby.
Since then, the site became the official cremation ground for the royal family of Jaisalmer. Each cenotaph (Chhatri) in Bada Bagh represents a different ruler, standing as a silent tribute to the valor and legacy of the Rajput kings.
